Generate an OpenAI key
and activate AI features in Reachy

Reachy uses your own AI key, so you pay OpenAI directly. Because search, connect, sequencing and scoring run locally at zero token cost, AI is only called when it writes for you.

Setup, step by step

  1. Create an OpenAI account. Go to platform.openai.com and register (or sign in).
  2. Start building. Click "Start building" in the top-right corner, enter an organization name, and skip the team-invitation screen.
  3. Generate the API key. Give the key a name and a project name, click "Generate API Key", then copy it somewhere safe.
  4. Add $5 of credits. Add a payment method and purchase $5 in credits — OpenAI requires this to activate any new key.
  5. Cap your monthly budget. In Dashboard → Usage → Edit budget, set a $2 monthly limit. Reachy sips tokens, so this typically covers full campaigns.
  6. Activate the key in Reachy. Open Reachy → Configuration → "Edit OpenAI Key", paste the key and click "Update key". AI features unlock immediately.

The one-time $5 credit purchase is OpenAI's activation policy, not a Reachy fee. The $2 monthly cap protects you from surprises.
